Hi and welcome to our adoption process page.  This page has  been created to give you a better
understanding of how the process works and to make you feel more comfortable about buying one
of our puppies.

Lots of research, discussions with other breeders and mentors, as well as health testing, and many
other things have been involved before we do a  breeding.  We take breeding very seriously and
want to do it with the most care and well thought out decisions as possible.  In turn we want to
place our puppies with the same thought out decisions to make sure they are receiving the very
best homes for them.

We are a very small show home.  The dogs you see on this website are the only dogs we have.  We
don't have several studs and we don't have 20 bitches to breed with and we certainly never intend
to have that.  By keeping our numbers small and breeding carefully selected bitches and dogs it
allows us to maintain our dogs as our pets living in our home. We don't have outdoor kennels
simply just indoor pets.  These choices allow us to produce better puppies that we hope are an
improvement of the breed.

To start our adoption process we ask that you go to our
questionnaire page and copy and paste
the questions into an email and send them to us.  These questions allow us to begin to understand
you and what you are looking for in a puppy.  Yes, some of the questions are pretty invasive but
please understand you are asking us to send one of our precious puppies to you.  We can't just
ship a puppy off and not even know where they are going or what their home life will be like.  We
welcome  your questions and you can add any that you have to that questionnaire or just
email us
with them.

The next step in the process is for you to look at photos or come and see the puppies.  We don't
allow visitors before 6 weeks of age and there are no exceptions so please don't ask.  We have that
rule to keep our little puppies safe. We are very happy to share photos with you prior to 6 weeks.
We do require a small deposit for litters that have not arrived and a deposit of $250 for a pup that
is on the ground. Deposits are non refundable unless there is not a pup available for you.  Please
think about this seriously before putting down your deposit.  I don't want to turn away a good
home and then find out that you won't be taking that puppy after all.  Pups can be paid for via
personal check 10 days prior to pick up or with cash in person at time of pick up.  You can also pay
with a certified check if you wish.  I know that everyone always wants to know puppy prices but
that's really dependent on the litter, the sire and dam, and the expense we've had to put into a
particular litter. Please refer to our pricing page for more information.  I hope that you will keep in
mind that you truly get what you pay for.  Folks that are selling Dachshund puppies for $200 are
selling poorly bred puppies that are not healthy.  Our puppies are raw fed, vax free, and will come
well socialized.  The sire and dam have had health testing appropriate for our breed. Our puppies
come with an extensive health guarantee as well.  Because we do show our dogs and bitches and
choose to raise our animals this way our puppies will be a bit more however the money you will
save in vet bills alone will more than make up the difference in price.

Most puppies will be able to leave our home around 10 weeks of age.  There will be times that I will
hang on to 2 or 3 puppies to watch them mature.  If your pup is one of the ones I am watching it
may need to stay until it is 12-14 weeks old.  The reason we do this is because we are a show
home.  All good breeders keep the structurally best puppy from a litter for themselves.  The reason
for that is because we want to continue to show and that this puppy may someday be bred.  We
only use the very best in our breeding program and sometimes it takes a little longer to decide
which pup is the best.

We sell our show potential puppies on a co-own contract to folks who want to show but have not
been able to do that yet or who are new to showing.  Established breeders and people established
in showing can purchase a pup with full privileges and no co-own.  Folks who do not show will only
get limited registration.  We do not sell pet pups with breeding rights.  We also don't sell to
breeders who don't show.  Please respect our rules and don't ask us to change them for you.  We
have these rules to protect our puppies and our breeding program.

I hope this has explained the adoption process to you somewhat.  Please feel free to email us with
questions anytime.  We look forward to hearing from you!
